Singapore has only one study visa - the student pass.
1. Student pass based on the duration of the program
Depending on the length of the program you intend to attend, you can apply for a short-term or long-term student card. A short-term pass is ideal for students planning to attend certificate or diploma courses, which typically last up to 3 months. If you wish to enroll in a bachelor's or master's program, you will need a long-term card.
2. Student pass based on the type of program you want to attend
Your student card usually contains details of the course you are attending. Singapore offers a wide range of courses, including diplomas, certificate courses, professional courses, practical courses for international students, and undergraduate and graduate courses.
Fees for registration and issuance of student tickets are the same for both categories.
Apart from them, Singapore also offers students the following passes:
Training Employment Pass: Foreign professionals who earn at least 3,000 Singapore dollars and undergo practical education in Singapore
Work Holiday Pass: Students/graduates between the ages of 18 and 25 who intend to work and go on holiday in Singapore
Training Work Permit: Students/semi-qualified trainees who undergo practical education for up to six months

Visa processing fee
You must pay a visa application fee of 30 SGD. This is a non-refundable upfront fee that you must pay when you apply to the Singapore ICA. If you choose to apply for a student card through the SOLAR system, you will need to pay a processing fee through your online banking account or debit/credit card.
Fee for issuing a visa
You must also pay a visa application fee of 60 SGD for each student card issued in your name. Also, if you want to exit Singapore and re-enter Singapore while on an academic course, you will have to pay 30 SGD as a multiple-entry fee. Procedure
You must submit your new/updated Student's Pass application online using the electronic service at least four weeks before the start of your course.
You do not need to be in Singapore while your application is being processed. Therefore, we recommend that you apply for a student pass before you arrive in Singapore, as you cannot extend your stay while it is being processed. If your application is approved, you can enter Singapore to complete the formalities required to issue your student pass.
You will need a local sponsor if you are applying for a student card to study at one of these schools. The local sponsor must be a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Permanent Resident (PR) and 21 years of age or older. Companies and organizations cannot act as sponsors.
If you have an SC or PR parent or step-parent, they must act as the local sponsor for your Student's Pass application.
This program includes the following process:
- Get your enrollment confirmation letter from the school you plan to attend.
- Log in to e-Service to complete the application forms (Form 16A - Pupil Details and V103 - Pupil's Parents) using the unique reference number provided in the registration confirmation letter.
- Your local sponsor must then log into e-Service to complete and submit forms V39s and V39Q (provision by local sponsor).
