The India eMedical Visa is an online travel authorization for foreign nationals seeking medical treatment in the country. A medical Indian visa allows the holder to enter the country a total of 3 times.

An electronic medical visa is a short-term visa issued for the purpose of medical treatment. This type of visa is granted only to the patient and not to family members. Blood relatives can get a separate Medical visa Attendant Visa to accompany the holder of an electronic medical visa.

How does an electronic medical visa work?

Obtaining a medical visa is a simple process. Eligible travelers seeking medical treatment can easily complete an application by providing a few important details that include their full name, date and place of birth, address, contact information and passport details.

All applicants must answer a series of security questions and pay the Indian eMedical Visa application fee using a debit or credit card. Once approved, the eVisa for medical purposes will be sent to the applicant's email address.

In order to successfully obtain an e-medical visa to India, applicants must know the following:

• From the date of arrival, the Indian e-Medical Visa will be valid for 60 days.
• Three-time entry is allowed with an Indian medical visa.
• Medical trips are available a maximum of 3 times a year.
• This type of visa is non-extendable, non-convertible and not valid for visiting protected restricted areas
• Applicants must have sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay in India
• Travelers are required to carry a copy of the approved India e-Visa permit during their stay

• Applicants holding international travel documents or diplomatic passports are not eligible to apply for an e-Tourist Visa to India

• Answer the questions about the hospital in India you will visit

This e-Visa is only available to travelers seeking medical care. It is important to get a letter from the hospital in India where the treatment will take place. E-Medical Visa holders cannot use this type of visa to visit protected areas in India.

After approval, the e-visa is sent to the applicant's email address. A medical visa to India allows a stay in the country for 60 days from the moment of first entry into the country. With a valid electronic medical visa, the holder can enter India up to three times.
