On December 22, 2022, Andorra introduced a visa for digital nomads. The country's parliament has adopted the law "On the Digital Economy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation", which sets out the general procedure for obtaining a residence permit on the basis of remote work.
What is a digital nomad visa in Andorra?
In fact, this is not a visa, but a type of residence permit based on remote work that can be obtained within the country. It allows remote workers to live in the country for a long period of time. At the same time, they are not allowed to work for local companies or have local clients - all income must come from foreign sources.

Documents required for a digital nomad residence permit in Andorra
The following documents are required to obtain a residence permit in Andorra:
- Application for residence permit
- Original and copy of the foreign passport
- Certificates of no criminal record from all countries of residence and citizenship
- A statement signed by the candidate about the absence of a criminal record
- A 35*45 color photo taken no earlier than 6 months before submitting the documents
- Permission to work remotely in Andorra from the Ministry of Economy
- Proof of ownership or rental housing that meets the minimum living conditions
- Confirmation of sufficient funds for the entire period of residence, for the main applicant this amount is equal to 3 times the annual minimum wage (12 x 3 x €1.286,13). These can be bank statements from Andorran banks, contracts and other financial documents
- Employment contract for employees of a foreign company or contracts with foreign customers for freelancers
- Documents on marital status - marriage and birth certificates
- Consent to reside in Andorra for at least 90 days a year with insurance

Step-by-step instructions for obtaining a residence permit
To obtain a digital nomad residence permit, the applicant must arrive in Andorra in person. The algorithm is as follows:
- Signing a housing contract.
- Opening a bank account in Andorra.
- Obtaining a remote work permit from the Ministry of Economy.
- Collecting a full set of documents, their translation and apostillization.
- Submitting an application and a package of documents to the migration service at the address indicated on the official website.
- Payment of the state fee of €191.
- On the next business day after submitting the documents, undergo a medical examination.
- After 72 hours, you need to come back to the migration service to evaluate the results.
- Waiting for the resident card to be ready.
