Visa-free entry
Most foreign nationals visiting St. Vincent and the Grenadines are eligible for a visa-free entry for up to 1 month. Caribbean nationals, British passport holders, or British Overseas Citizens are allowed to stay for six (6) months.
Citizens of OECD countries can stay in the country indefinitely. However, they must have the necessary funds for maintenance during the entire time of their stay in the country.
Keep in mind that although a visa is not required, you should:
- Have a passport valid for at least six months after the date of departure from the country and one blank page of the visa
- Keep confirmation of flights to and from your destination
- Keep all the documents you need for your next destination
- Keep documents confirming the purpose of the trip (e.g., cover or support letter, conference registration, etc.)
- Have proof of sufficient funds for the planned duration of stay
It is recommended to confirm with your airline that boarding will be allowed without a visa
Countries whose citizens need a visa to enter Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Citizens of eight (8) countries require a visa to enter Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. These include:
- Iran
- Dominican Republic
- Nigeria
- Jordan
- Lebanon
- China
- Iraq
- Syria
- Haiti
- Afghanistan
Persons from these countries should contact the Ministry of National Security of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The visa to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is issued by the Ministry of Homeland Security. Please send the original application form along with all relevant documents to the Ministry with a processing fee. Each visa application costs 200.00 EC$.

Transit Visa: This type of visa is issued to persons transiting through Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to a destination outside of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Entry with pets
! All requirements also apply to service animals and emotional support animals.
1. The first step to prepare your dog or cat for entry into St. Vincent and the Grenadines is to microchip your pet with a 15-digit ISO 11784/11785 compliant pet microchip.
If your pet's chip does not meet the requirements, you can bring your own microchip scanner.
2. Your pet must have been vaccinated against rabies and other diseases between 30 days and 12 months prior to entry into Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Dogs also need to be vaccinated against canine distemper, parvovirus, leptospirosis, hepatitis, and parainfluenza.
Cats should be vaccinated against feline rhinotracheitis, panleukopenia, feline leukemia, calicivirus and Chlamydophila psittaci.
3. A rabies titer test (FAVN) is required no earlier than 21 days after rabies vaccination to enter St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The sample must be processed by an approved laboratory in the United Kingdom or the United States.
4. You must apply for an import permit before traveling to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
When your veterinarian completes the import authorization form, you will send it to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Department of Agriculture. They will approve the form and fax it to you. You will pay a fee for this service. Failure to submit an import permit will result in a fine and may result in the placement of your pet.
5. A licensed veterinarian must complete a veterinary certificate for the Grenadines. This certificate must be verified by the government agency in your country responsible for importing and exporting animals.
6. Dogs must be tested for heartworm within 7 days after importation
Dogs and cats should be treated for external and internal parasites with an approved broad-spectrum anthelmintic within 7 days of importation.
7. Pets must enter St. Vincent and the Grenadines through Argyle International Airport. Cats and dogs may arrive in the cabin as checked baggage or as air cargo. Advance notice must be given at least 48 hours prior to arrival.
All pet dogs and cats must show no signs of a disease transmissible to humans when examined at the airport of entry. If your dog or cat is not in good health, an additional examination by a licensed veterinarian may be required at your expense.
All cats and dogs arriving after 4pm or on holidays or weekends are subject to an inspection fee.
Temporary driving permits are issued to persons who are bonafide visitors to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
1) The Licensing Authority may grant a temporary driving permit for a period not exceeding six (6) months.
The following are the requirements for such:
a) A valid driving permit from the country of origin.
b) A valid passport to facilitate your registration in the Inland Revenue Department's Database.
c) A fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) shall be paid in respect of this temporary driving permit.
2) A holder of an international driving permit will be exempted from holding a St. Vincent and the Grenadines driving permit where;
The country of issuance is a signatory to the International Convention.
3) The holders of a valid driving permit issued in any other commonwealth country of the West Indies are exempted from any requirement to hold a driving permit issued in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The holder of foreign international driving permit registration must register his or her permit with the Licensing Authority first, before driving in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He shall only be entitled to drive in St. Vincent and the Grenadines a motor vehicle of the class for which he holds authorization to drive in the country in which his driving permit was issued.
Important Reminders:
- Drive on the right side of the road.
- Minimum age to drive is 17 years old. Minimum age to rent is 21 years old.
- Seat belt is a must.
- Third-party insurance is a must.
- Speed limit is 30 km/h in most areas.
Avoid driving at nights and during bad weather.
Permitted items for import: Personal belongings, including clothing and toiletries.
Prohibited items: Drugs and illegal medicines.
Animals, including pets, are subject to certain import restrictions and require a permit from the Ministry of Agriculture.
