The Yemeni Ministry of Education controls the education system. 

In recent years, higher education in Yemen has grown rapidly from a few universities at the time of the merger to seven public universities and eight private ones at the moment.

The academic year runs from September to June. Students have extended summer vacations of almost three months, as well as shorter vacations for major Islamic and secular holidays.

University education lasts 4 years, with the exception of engineering and medicine, which require 5 to 6 years of study, respectively.

1. Application for admission to the University;

3. The certificate of secondary education or other previous academic qualifications;

5. Police clearance issued within the last six months;

7. A motivation letter;
8. IELTS, TestDaf, DELF or CELI language certificate.

Some universities require Thanawiya exam results, the required score depends on each faculty.

After entering a higher education institution in Yemen, international students who wish to study must apply for a student visa at the nearest Yemeni Embassy.

2. David L. Boren Baccalaureate's Degree Scholarships;

4. The national flagship language program is designed exclusively to speed up students' learning in a critical language, such as Arabic, by immersing themselves in the country, its language and Customs. Students can study the language and are eligible for full tuition funding.
