ECOWAS citizens (residents of Nigeria) are eligible to receive an ECOWAS residence card.
Requirements for receiving:
- Application letter for ECOWAS Residence Card from the person/employer/embassy/high commission/diaspora association accepting immigration responsibility.
- ECOWAS travel certificate or national passport valid for at least the next 6 months.
- Photocopy of biodata page of ECOWAS travel certificate or national passport.
- Two copies of the applicant's recent passport photo.
- Electronic payment confirmation.
- Duly filled and signed questionnaire.
For those who work (in addition to the information specified above):
- Job offer letter.
- Letter of acceptance of a job offer.
- Resume of the applicant, if applicable.
- Certificate of registration with professional organizations (where required).
How to apply:
1. Complete the ECOWAS Residence Card online application form here, make the payment online and get your application ID and reference number.
2. Submit the completed ECOWAS Residence Card application form with other documents to the immigration office selected during the online application.
Processing time: 48 hours after receiving the application.

1. Return of Nigerians by Birth (F9A)
Short-term single/multiple entry visa. Up to 90 days for each stay.
How to get
Nigerians by descent under section 25 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 holding other national passports.
Permitted activities
Allowed for social and business visits.
Limited activity

Residence visas for Nigerians by origin and their relatives
1. Visas for Nigerians by origin who renounced their Nigerian citizenship (N2A)
Permanent residence permit. Valid through passport expiration date.
How to get
Nigerians by descent who have renounced their Nigerian citizenship under the provisions of Section 37 (12) of the Immigration Act, 2015.
Permitted activities
For residence in Nigeria.
Limited activity
The visa does not allow you to work.
2.Visas for the Spouse of a Nigerian Citizen (N1A)
Permanent residence permit. Valid through passport and marriage certificate.

Husband/wife of a citizen of Nigeria can get it.

- Nigeria Retirement Letter/Certificate

3. Pensioner visa (for pensioners from abroad) (N5B)
