Denmark is recognized as the most successful country in the world: a list of prosperous countries
The British research center Legatum Institute has identified the top most successful countries in the world. Scandinavia is among the top three, with Denmark taking the lead. Find out more about the countries included in the ranking
The British analytical center Legatum Institute annually conducts research and publishes a ranking of countries based on the Prosperity Index. The rating is calculated based on a cumulative assessment of 300 indicators, which are grouped into twelve key groups, including: investment environment, level of economic development, business conditions, personal freedom, health care, education, etc.

Denmark was recognized as the most successful country in 2022. Since 2007, the state has been among the top five countries, and since 2018 it has been ranked exclusively in 1st place. In Denmark, citizens have a high level of trust in the judicial system - 86% and in people - 74%. The country has high indicators in social capital and personal freedom. Over the past 10 years, the state has reformed the health care system.
Sweden ranks second in the overall ranking of the well-being index. The country has the best indicators in the field of natural environment and living conditions, but the weakest in the category of "business conditions".
On the third step is another Scandinavian country - Norway. The state has the strongest performance in the area of personal freedom and governance, but the weakest in the area of infrastructure. In the last 10 years, the greatest improvement was observed in the quality of life in Norway.
Finland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Iceland and Germany also made it to the top ten. Rounding out the top ten is New Zealand, the only non-European country in the Top 10.

Prosperity Index for investors
Investors and international business owners use the results of the study to invest capital in the economies of the most favorable countries. The analysis of the Prosperity Index has been conducted since 2006, thanks to which investors can assess the dynamics of the well-being of each country over the past 15 years.
In 2022, Hong Kong, Finland, the Netherlands, Singapore and Japan are recognized as countries with the best investment environment.
