Chile

Historically, Chile's economy has been focused on the extraction of minerals, but in recent years the state has been actively investing money in industries that will allow it to become an innovative technology center. In particular, the Start-Up Chile grant program for talented startups operates here, within the framework of which three programs are available:

1. Build – for aspiring entrepreneurs, designed to start a business. You'll receive 10 million pesos (about $14,000) and access to a co-working space along with a one-year residency visa.

2. Ignite – aimed at small startups that have already started but need help scaling up. The program provides about $30,000 and offers an additional $30,000.

3. Scaling – Targets cutting-edge or large startups, providing $80,000 in funding to help drive innovation.

- Conditions of participation

You can also submit an application in English. You need to describe your startup or business idea in detail. If you are selected, you will be invited to an interview.

- Conditions of participation

You must move permanently to one of the cities in southern Italy, have a job and invest in a house that was built before 1991. About a third of the houses in Kandela meet this requirement.

2. The island of Sardinia offered 15,000 euros to those willing to move to the countryside and renovate a house. The Sardinian government has allocated €45 million to this initiative to combat depopulation and isolation.

- Conditions of participation

Applicants must move to a city with a population of less than 3,000, live there continuously for 18 months, and work full-time.

3. In Sicily, you can buy a house for 1 euro, provided you renovate it within three years.

- Conditions of participation

You need to make repairs to the house worth about 15,000 euros and pay a 5,000-euro deposit, which will be returned later.

4. Tuscany launched a program aimed at attracting new residents "Residence in the mountains 2024". The program started in early June and covers 76 villages. The authorities offer foreigners grants of between 10,000 and 30,000 euros to help with the costs of buying and renovating real estate.

- Conditions of participation

It is important that the purchased real estate becomes the main residence of the applicant. The grant covers only 50% of housing costs. You can choose one of 76 towns with a population of no more than 5,000 people to move to. More details in this article.

Importantly! As of August 2024, the Sicily and Tuscany programs have already registered the required number of participants, so applications are currently suspended.
