The good news is that the British government has introduced the prestigious Chevening Scholarships program, which provides an opportunity to study at a master's degree in the United Kingdom with 100% financial support. A citizen of any country in the world can receive a grant. Applications for the 2025-26 academic year have already begun.
What does a Chevening scholarship in the UK pay?
Chevening Scholarships offer full financial support for studying at a master's program at any UK university: tuition fees, a monthly stipend, reimbursement of the cost of tickets to the UK and additional living allowances.
In addition, the student will have access to internships, volunteer work and specialized activities that will further enrich their studies.
Who is eligible for a Chevening Scholarship in the UK?
Talented students from more than 160 countries can apply for a Chevening scholarship. However, the student must have leadership potential and plan to take a leadership position in the future.
Requirements for participants are as follows:
- Be a citizen of one of the 160 countries or territories whose citizens can apply for Chevening Scholarships.
- Have a bachelor's degree that gives the right to study on a master's program in the UK.
- Have at least two years of work experience (2800 hours).
- Meet the requirements for English language proficiency.
- Commit to return to your home country for at least two years after graduation.
- Receive a study offer from one of the UK universities before the application deadline.

How to apply for Chevening Scholarships?
In general, the application procedure can be divided into several steps:
Step 1 – Research
Check out the available universities and degree programs on the Chevening website.
Step 2 – Prepare a package of documents
Documents with the results of your studies, reference materials and English language exam results.
Step 3 – Apply on the official website
To do this, visit the Chevening.org portal, go to the "Apply" section and select the country and scholarship.
Step 4 – Fill out the application
Fill out the online form and upload all the necessary documents.
Step 5 – Get an interview
Applicants shortlisted for the scholarship will be invited for an interview.
Step 6 – Wait for the results to be announced
The results of the competition will be announced in June 2025.
How many students will be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year?
Around 1,500 Chevening Scholarships are available for international students this year, funded by the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations.
