Malaysia has changed its travel requirements to improve immigration processes and strengthen border security. These rules have changed the procedure for passing immigration control for citizens of most countries of the world, including representatives of the Philippines, Tajikistan, Taiwan and Kyrgyzstan. From now on, foreigners arriving in the country must fill out the Malaysian Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).

What is the Malaysian Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)?

Who needs to apply for a Malaysian Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)?


All visitors to Malaysia must complete a Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) except for the following categories of people:

- Permanent residents of Malaysia.

- Holders of the Malaysian Automated Clearance System (MACS).

- Travelers transiting through Singapore without going through immigration control.

Basic requirements for a Digital Arrival Card in Malaysia

1. Valid passport: must be recognized and valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.

2. Return Ticket: A confirmed return or onward ticket to demonstrate your plans to leave Malaysia.

3. Proof of Sufficient Funds: Be prepared to provide proof of sufficient funds for your stay if required.

4. Travel Itinerary: Include your flight and accommodation details.

5. Personal Information: Provide your name, nationality and contact details.

6. Health Declaration: Depending on the regulations in force, you may be required to declare your health.

7. Timely Submission: Complete the MDAC online at the MDAC portal within three days of your arrival.

MDAC validity and completion period


The MDAC is valid for 30 days in Malaysia. You must submit the document within three days of your arrival in Malaysia.
