Table of contents
In the United States, a special service called CBP One was launched for foreigners who want to cross the southern border of the United States through Mexico. Learn more about how the app works and its benefits
You can cross the border between the United States and Mexico through an official crossing, with the help of charitable foundations, or illegally. However, each method has its drawbacks, from long delays or the prospect of being refused to the likelihood of being behind bars.
The Border Customs Service of the US Department of Homeland Security has developed a special mobile application that should make life easier for refugees crossing the US southern border. Registering with the CBP One app will minimize the likelihood of delays at the border and is the safest way to cross the US-Mexico border.
What does the program provide and how to use it? More details below.
Benefits of CBP One
The special CBP One service allows you to cross the southern border of the United States without a visa. A foreigner can register on the website or in the mobile application, fill out a questionnaire and apply for border crossing at one of the checkpoints in the states of Arizona, Texas or California.
The application can be installed on a phone or tablet. It works on IOS and Android operating systems. The application is developed in English and Spanish.
Importantly! You can only leave data on the website, and you can register for the border crossing only through the mobile application.
Feel at home in any country in the world! Protect yourself from unforeseen expenses and situations during your trip by taking out reliable insurance.
How to register for the CBP One app?
Only the person who will cross the border has to go through the registration procedure.
Download the application, install it on your device and open it.
Register through the application at login.gov. After creating an account, the system will automatically return you to the CBP One application.
Fill out the form, enter information about all persons with whom you plan to cross the border.
Choose the date and time of reception. The choice of date depends on the availability of free places. According to the official statement, new vacancies will appear every day at 9 o'clock (in the time zone of New York).
If registration is successful, you will receive a confirmation email after completion.
At the border, the applicant will be met by a migration officer who will set a date and time for a hearing in court, where it will be necessary to prove the need for asylum.
Importantly! The application works if you are close to the border. CBP One is linked to geolocation and works if a person is near one of the checkpoints or in certain cities, such as Mexico City or Monterrey.
