Barbados is a charming island in the Caribbean that will surprise tourists with its history, culture, and cuisine. The country is known for its world's most beautiful beaches, the west coast is famous for its aquamarine waters and soft sand, while the east coast is dominated by wilder beaches. 

The best time to visit Barbados is January-April, when there is the least rainfall, lots of sunshine, and the average temperature is 29°C.

Visa

A visa is not required for travelers from most countries, including citizens of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the EU. 

You can check if you need to apply for a visa here.

If you are required to obtain an entry visa to travel to Barbados, you must apply for and receive your visa prior to booking your trip. The visa is not issued upon arrival at the airport in Barbados. 

To apply for a visa, you must fill out an application form in duplicate. Two passport-size photographs must be attached to the form. Visas can be obtained at any Barbados representative office and consulate abroad.


List of documents for traveling to Barbados

When crossing the border, representatives of the immigration service check the availability of:

  • a passport valid for the entire period of stay on the island
  • return ticket;
  • visa (for citizens of countries with which visa-free regime is not established);
  • address of residence in Barbados;
  • medical insurance;
  • proof of funds for travel.


Permitted period of visa-free stay in Barbados

Tourists can stay in Barbados without a visa for up to 6 months. The length of stay is determined by the immigration service.


Quarantine restrictions in connection with the COVID-19

On September 22, 2022, all quarantine restrictions related to the COVID-19 epidemic were lifted in Barbados. Tourists do not need to confirm vaccination or provide negative test results. In addition, wearing masks is also optional.


Traveling with children to Barbados

To travel to Barbados, children under the age of eighteen must provide a full package of documents: a valid passport, visa (if necessary), health insurance, etc. Also, a child traveling without parents/guardians must have permission from their parents/guardians.


How to get to Barbados?

It is quite easy to fly to the island from many parts of the world. The number of flights to the island is increasing every year.

The main international airlines that regularly operate flights to Barbados are British Airways, American Airlines, and Air Canada. Many charter airlines also operate flights to this tiny paradise island, especially from December to April, when Barbados is in the peak tourist season.
