Details on the new K-Culture visa
This year, the Republic of Korea plans to issue study visas to foreigners to study Korean culture on an experimental basis. In addition, the possibility of introducing a new work visa is being considered in order to attract more tourists, the country's Ministry of Finance reported.
The Korean news agency Yonhap notes that these measures are part of a comprehensive program aimed at simplifying entry procedures and developing various tourist programs to better meet the needs of tourists and increase their comfort.
Starting this year, the government will introduce a so-called K-culture study visa for foreigners on an experimental basis. This visa will be available to those who want to participate in training programs in K-pop, choreography and other areas of Korean culture.
The possibility of expanding the visa regime for digital nomads is also being considered, which will allow foreigners to work remotely while traveling in South Korea. A one-year test operation of the work visa has been underway since January, and the government is exploring options to diversify its requirements in cooperation with regional governments. This should provide foreigners with more incentives and options for staying for work and tourism in different regions of the Republic of Korea.
