Researchers took into account the following factors: average air and sea temperatures and the number of hours of sunshine and rainy days.

Top 3 sunniest cities in Europe

Faro, Portugal. This city in southwestern Europe topped the ranking, as it has 11 hours of sunshine per day in summer. The average temperature is also as comfortable as possible - 24 degrees, and there are practically no rainy days. It should be added that the city is located in the Algarve province, so it has a beautiful historic center and picturesque beaches nearby;

Athens, Greece. This European capital attracts tourists not only with its ancient architecture but also with sunny weather. It is estimated that the average number of rainy days in summer is one. If you plan to combine the study of historical monuments with a beach vacation, Greece will be a great choice;

Marbella, Spain. The presence of the Spanish city in the ranking of sunny countries will not surprise anyone. At the same time, it is Marbella that has overtaken the rest of the Spanish cities. In this city, the sun shines for 11 hours on average in summer, which is almost half of the day.
