What is the Danish positive list?
The positive list is a list of occupations that are experiencing a shortage of skilled workers in Denmark. If you have been offered a job on the Positive List, you can apply for a residence and work permit in Denmark under this scheme.
The list is updated twice a year and includes:

How has Denmark's positive list changed in 2025?
- Positive List for Skilled Work - The updated Positive List for Skilled Work now includes 48 job titles, reflecting the country's reduced shortage of skilled workers.
- The positive list for higher education has grown to 162 positions. This trend is driven by the increasing need for highly educated professionals and a policy that ensures that job titles remain on the list for at least two years.

Requirements for foreigners to obtain a job on the Danish positive list
The right to a work and residence permit in Denmark based on the list is granted to foreigners who meet the following criteria:
1. Appropriate education
The level of qualification must meet the requirements for the position on the list. For work in higher education, a university degree in the relevant field is required.
2. Duration of employment
Permits are usually valid for the period of employment, up to a maximum of four years.
3. A certain level of salary
Jobs that are not covered by collective agreements or employers' organizations must meet Danish wage standards, the minimum salary is approximately DKK 71,000 per month (USD 9,750).
How do I apply for a work permit in Denmark on the basis of the positive occupation list?
To apply for a residence and work permit under the Danish Positive List scheme, you must complete the following steps:
