Kenyan President William Ruto on Sunday, February 23, announced that the government will review visa and electronic travel authorization (eTA) requirements for passengers arriving at the port of Mombasa. The announcement was made during the arrival of the cruise ship MS Norwegian Dawn, the largest ship ever to dock at a Kenyan port, carrying over 3,100 passengers.

William Ruto shared that the government plans to update the visa and electronic travel authorization (eTA) regulations, including making the permit multiple-entry, which will allow cruise tourists to move freely between the ship and the city without needing approval each time they disembark.

The president further noted that the changes to the visa and eTA will be in line with recent updates made for international travelers arriving at the country’s major airports, ensuring a single entry process for all travelers.
