In the article - the terms and conditions, booking rules, nuances of paying fees and why this offer is truly unique
Japan has long topped the list of most popular destinations for travelers, but its popularity has another side to it – megacities like Tokyo and Kyoto are increasingly suffering from tourist congestion. ANA is offering free tickets for domestic flights – who can get it?
National carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) and the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) have launched a program that allows you to get up to two domestic flights without paying for a ticket. The promotion is valid for travelers from the UK and European countries who purchase an international flight to Japan through ANA.
When can you get free tickets in Japan?
The promotion is valid from November 24, 2025 to January 31, 2026.
An important nuance! You need to book free flights by January 31, but you can also make them after the end of the promotion - this opens up more flexibility for planning routes.
What tickets can you get free in Japan?
Only economy class tickets are available, but domestic flights can vary in destinations - the start and end of the route do not necessarily have to coincide. This way, tourists can build a multi-stop trip and visit several regions at no additional cost.
Free ≠ no fees at all
Airport fees and taxes are paid separately – usually around $10 per flight. The offer is also subject to availability.
Why is Japan launching such a generous promotion?
After the pandemic, the country is experiencing a real tourism boom. In 2024 alone, more than 36 million guests visited Japan, and most of them stop in several famous cities. At the same time, more than 90% of tourists say they would like to see the regions – but less than 10% actually get there.
The free flight program should solve this very problem – open access to less popular, but no less exciting places:
- Hokkaido – snow, skiing, wild landscapes.
- Okinawa – tropical beaches and a completely different culture.
- Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Aomori – history, cuisine, festivals.
- Izu Peninsula – hot springs, coastline and volcanic landscapes.
The wider the routes – the less pressure on tourist hubs and the more benefits for local economies.
How to book free flights in Japan?
1. Buy an international flight London/EU → Japan through ANA.
2. Add up to 2 domestic flights when booking.
3. Pay taxes and fees
4. Choose from over 40 available destinations
Where can you book free flights in Japan?
- Through a travel agent.
- At ANA offices.
- Directly on the airline’s website
Why is this offer a chance not to be missed?
Without additional charges for domestic flights, tourists get the opportunity to see Japan not only on the cover, but also in real life – with different dialects, traditions and cuisine. This invitation is not just to fly to Tokyo, but to arrange a route for yourself, which would usually cost many times more.
