Dominica citizenship by investment. How to get and what a foreign investor needs to know

Dominica has a pleasant climate, especially during the cooler period from December to March. Travelers describe Dominicans as the friendliest people in the Caribbean. Because of the mountainous terrain only about a quarter of the island is cultivated but the rich soil produces good domestic and export crops. Organic farming is encouraged and has great economic potential.

In recent years thanks to increased investment in real estate the country's economy are now heavily dependent on tourism. Dominica boasts a virtually non-existent crime rate and the currency is the East Caribbean dollar pegged to the US dollar.

Procedures and terms of the Dominica Citizenship by Investment Program

The applicant and his family must take an oath before an authorized notary, justice of the peace, or oath commissioner. Once the oath of office has been taken the application for citizenship is further processed and certificates of citizenship are issued properly. There are no physical residency requirements. However, the government is encouraging the continued participation of new citizens in the economy and substantial incentives are being offered to make greater participation an attractive option.

The successful applicant has the right to settle in Dominica at any time and for any length of time. Any applicant who has been denied a visa to a country with which Dominica has a visa waiver agreement must subsequently successfully obtain a visa from that country to be eligible to apply.

Applications are processed by the Citizenship by Investment Unit, a dedicated government agency within the Ministry of Finance that is responsible for administering the program. Application processing time is currently three months from receipt of a fully completed application.

The Commonwealth of Dominica Citizenship by Investment Program does not require language, age, business experience, or education, nor does it require a mandatory interview. An economically secure country with a parliamentary democracy it has one of the highest standards of living in the Caribbean, has no taxes for non-residents, has the lowest crime rate in the entire region, and is arguably one of the most beautiful places on earth with lush green mountains countless untouched rivers and waterfalls and stunning white and black sandy beaches. Best of all, the Commonwealth of Dominica offers the cheapest citizenship by investment program in the world with a reliable second passport for as little as $100,000.
