Good news for tourists planning a short trip to Saudi Arabia or traveling through the country in transit. The country's government has decided to introduce a new type of visa - transit "Stop-over Visa". This is a short-term permit with a simple application procedure that will allow more travelers to get to know the culture of the region.

Features of "Stop-over Visa" in Saudi Arabia

The "Stop-over Visa" transit visa service has become available since January 30, 2023. This visa will be issued as a one-time visa, valid for 90 days from the date of its issuance and with an authorized stay in the Kingdom of up to 96 hours (4 days). It is impossible for holders of "Stop-over Visa" to extend their stay.

"Stop-over Visa" registration procedure

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs agreed on the launch of "Stop-over Visa" with the relevant authorities and national airlines of Saudi Arabia. You can issue a visa online or automatically through air carriers:

Leave an application on the visa portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Apply through the air carriers Saudi Arabian Airlines and Flynas - the tourist fills out the appropriate application, then it will be automatically sent to the Unified National Visa Platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the issuance and issuance of a digital visa. The visa will be sent to the traveler by e-mail immediately after registration.

The launch of the program "Your ticket is a visa" from the national air carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines is also planned. A tourist is expected to obtain a 96-hour tourist visa at no extra charge after purchasing a ticket to enter Saudi Arabia for the purpose of tourism and performing Umrah (pilgrimage to Mecca).

To apply for a visa, a tourist must have a medical insurance policy and pay an administrative fee. Holders of "Stop-over visa" will be able to enter the Kingdom through any international crossing point of the state border of Saudi Arabia.

Feel at home in any country in the world! Protect yourself from unforeseen expenses and situations during your trip by taking out reliable insurance.

Purposes and prospects of a transit visa to Saudi Arabia

The transit visa is aimed at attracting more visitors to the country and promoting tourism in Saudi Arabia. The visa will allow foreigners to enter Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, as well as explore the country and attend various tourist activities.

As part of the "Development of Saudi Arabia until 2030" program, it is planned to strengthen the country's position as a transit point, using its strategic location between different continents.
