Rules for entering the country

Most tourists need a visa to enter Angola, which must be approved by an embassy or consulate. For a short-term visit, a tourist visa is suitable, which entitles you to stay in the country for up to 30 days. It can be extended twice for the same period. You can also get an e-visa, which allows you to make tourist, guest or business trips.

Vaccination is an important condition for entry. Foreign tourists must have proof of yellow fever vaccination. In addition, depending on the place of visit and length of stay, it is advisable to be vaccinated against hepatitis A, malaria, typhoid, cholera, hepatitis B, and rabies.

- a passport-size color photo;

- round-trip airline tickets;

- hotel reservation confirmation or letter of invitation from a resident of Angola;

- international yellow fever vaccination certificate;

- proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay in the country.

Transportation and car rental in Angola

Public transportation in Angola is not very developed. You can get around by local buses, but they are usually small and crowded. Taxis should also be used only as a last resort. 

For domestic travel, it is better to order the services of the relevant trusted companies or take care of renting a car. Foreigners are allowed to drive a car with their own driver's license, but only for up to thirty days. However, it is better to have an international driver's license, as well as insurance and proof of registration.

Cash payment is more common in the country. Credit cards are also accepted, but in a very limited number of hotels and restaurants. There are not many ATMs in cities, and they are often empty.
