In January 2024, the German government, in response to Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, simplified the migration requirements for Israelis in Germany. Given the current situation, the country's leadership has suspended the requirements for residence permits, thereby giving Israeli citizens the right to temporarily stay in Germany without visas.
What has changed for Israelis in Germany in 2024?
Israeli citizens who were in Germany before the approval of simplified conditions can stay in the country between January 26, 2024 and April 26, 2024 without having to apply for a residence permit or extend their visa-free stay. The relevant resolution was published by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Public Affairs of Germany.
The simplification of these requirements is aimed at supporting and protecting Israelis already in Germany.
