In Berlin, a personalized travel ticket for 29 euros is being returned, which will be valid for all types of transport within tariff zones A and B.

Public transport ticket in Berlin

In 2022, Berlin introduced a 29-euro ticket that was valid for all modes of transport within tariff zones A and B, but it was later canceled. Now, this initiative will be reintroduced, allowing passengers to use all types of public transport in these zones.

The Berlin Pass will be an alternative to the €49 national Deutschlandticket, especially for those who do not travel around the country often. This new ticket can be used on regional trains, S-Bahn, subways, trams, and buses within Zones A and B, which cover the boundaries of Berlin.

The tickets are now available not only online but also at BVG customer service centers. These tickets will be personalized and allow owners to bring children under 6 years old or dogs with them at no extra charge.

One of the innovations is that the 29 euro subscription will be valid for a year, requiring users to subscribe for 12 months. The bill will need to be paid every month

This decision has received significant support among Berlin residents according to the results of a BerlinTrend survey. 60% of respondents believe that the reintroduction of such a ticket is the right decision.
