You work remotely for a company outside Greece or provide evidence of your business activity abroad (you must also prove that your business will not be registered in Greece if you are self-employed).
3. The work is carried out remotely.
You use telecommunications technology to perform your work.
4. No criminal record.
You have a clean criminal record.
5. You have health insurance that covers your stay in Greece.
6. You have a place to live in Greece.
You have accommodation in Greece (rented or owned).

How to apply for a Greek Digital Nomad Visa?
Step 1 – Contact the Greek Embassy
The first thing you need to do to apply for a Greek Digital Nomad Visa is to contact your nearest local embassy. The requirements vary slightly depending on your country. Therefore, your local embassy can provide you with additional information about the Digital Nomad Visa application process.
Step 2 – Prepare the required documents
When applying for a Digital Nomad Visa to Greece, you must prepare the following documents:
- Application form – fill out the form with your personal information.
- Valid passport – your passport must be valid for at least three months after the expiry date of the visa.
- Two passport photos.
- Proof of employment: employment contract, letter stating that you can work remotely, declaration letter.
- Proof of sufficient funds to stay in Greece: recent bank statements, company statements, employment contract with salary.
- Proof of residence – rental agreement, hotel reservation or property ownership.
- Valid health insurance policy – You must obtain health insurance that covers you for the duration of your stay in Greece.
- Certificate of no criminal record.
- Medical certificate – this is proof that you do not have any disease that could threaten the public health of Greece.
- Application fee – provide proof that you have paid the required fees.
Step 3 – Prepare for the interview
Sometimes the authorities want to interview you, so it is better to be prepared for possible questions such as the stability of your income, the purpose of your trip, the duration of your trip, etc.

Note that you can also apply for a Greek digital nomad visa by visiting the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum if you are already in the country.
The package of documents is similar to the one submitted by foreigners staying abroad.
However, it may take about a month for the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum to issue your visa.
How long can I work in Greece as a Digital Nomad?
You can reside in Greece with a Digital Nomad visa for up to one year and extend the visa for up to two years.
How much does it cost to apply for a Greek digital nomad visa
The application fee for a Greek digital nomad visa is 75 euros. This amount is for the services of the Greek authorities. You will not receive a refund in case of refusal.
There is also an administrative fee of approximately 150 euros. If you plan to go there with your family, you can do so for an additional fee of 150 euros.

Taxes for remote workers in Greece
You do not pay taxes in Greece if you live there for less than 183 days (approximately six months).
However, even after six months, digital nomads are entitled to tax deductions: Greece has a 50% tax reduction program for 7 years.

With a monthly income below €12,0000 – no income tax
From €12,000 to €16,000 – 18% income tax.
From €16,000 to €22,000 – 24% income tax.
From €22,000 to €26,000 – 26% income tax.
From €26,000 to €32,000 – 32% income tax.
From €32,000 to €40,000 – 36% income tax.
From €40,000 to €60,000 – 38% income tax.
From €60,000 to €100,000 – 40% income tax.
Over 100,000 euros – 45% income tax.
