What to see in Vietnam in 2025?

Vietnam has become a must-visit destination, offering incredible scenery, history, and a unique culture, as well as being home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

From the ancient imperial city of Hue to the stunning limestone islets in Lan Ha Bay, these places offer a glimpse into the country’s past and natural beauty. The country captivates travelers with its charm and authenticity.

If you’re not sure if Vietnam would be a great place to visit, here are a few reasons why you should consider visiting Vietnam on your next trip:

- Lan Ha Bay is a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to stunning limestone islets rising from clear emerald waters. It is the smallest of the three main bays in the area and remains an unspoiled gem with clear waters and caves to explore. Lan Ha Bay offers some of the best scenery, having been formed over 500 million years.

- Ho Chi Minh City – Few cities in Southeast Asia are as captivating as Ho Chi Minh City. Formerly known as Saigon, this bustling metropolis is packed with historical sites and museums. Not far from the city, you can explore the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, dug by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. Notable landmarks in the city include Notre Dame Cathedral, built by French colonists, and the Independence Palace, a major landmark where the Vietnam War took place.

- Hanoi – the capital of Vietnam, is a blend of tradition and modernity. At its heart lies the Old Quarter, a mix of narrow alleys and 15th-century shops. The Old Quarter is known for its market streets named after the things they sold. For example, Hang Bac is filled with jewelry shops, while Han Gai is famous for its silk and tailoring.

A significant cultural site in the Old Quarter is the Temple of Literature, founded in 1070 as Vietnam’s first national university.

- The image of a rural idyll with green hills and rice fields is perfectly captured in the quiet Mai Chau Mountains, which offer an escape from the bustling streets of Hanoi. Get to know the local traditions and lifestyle of the tribal community by visiting some of the local villages of Tai Dong to learn about their culture. Then, stroll along the streams and take a bamboo raft down the river. Visit a local hill tribe to learn about their way of life, including planting rice, herding buffalo, and building traditional houses.

Whether you’re planning a quick trip or a longer adventure in Vietnam, a visa-free regime will make it easier to discover the rich history, vibrant cities, and breathtaking landscapes.

Reminder! Malaysia is one of the most popular travel destinations in Southeast Asia, attracting thousands of tourists every year, as it has fantastic nature, rich culture, and developed infrastructure. We’ve already told you what the entry rules to Malaysia are this year.
