Are local driver's licenses valid in Guatemala?
Your driving license issued by your country of origin is only valid for 30 days from the date of your arrival. Therefore, it must be accompanied by your international driver's license or IDP. The IDP is a translation of your local driver's license, which means it will not be recognized unless your IDP is present to validate your local driver's license. You can apply for an international driver's license before or during your stay in Guatemala.
