1) If you bring more than EUR 10,000 in cash into Luxembourg, you must fill out a declaration form and declare it to the Customs and Excise Agency (Administration des douanes et accises - ADA).

2) People who are over the age of 17 who arrive from EU countries are allowed duty – free import of up to 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarettes, or 50 cigars or 250 g of pipe tobacco, up to 1 liter of strong alcoholic beverages (alcohol content more than 22%), sparkling wine or table wine – up to 2 liters; up to 50 g of perfume and 250 ml of Eau de toilette, as well as personal goods at the rate of 175 euros per adult and 90 euros per person a child under the age of 15.

3) When entering from the territory of European EU member states, people are over the age of 17 are allowed duty - free import of up to 10 liters of strong alcoholic beverages (alcohol content over 22%) or up to 20 liters of wine, or up to 90 liters of table wine, or up to 110 liters of beer; up to 800 cigarettes or 200 cigars and up to 1 kg of tobacco (the amount of imported perfumes is not limited).

4) Personal items and basic necessities are also imported duty-free on the basis of their oral declaration and presentation for customs control. Duty-free import of amateur photo, video and film cameras with a reasonable amount of film, sports accessories (1 pair of skis, 2 tennis rackets, 1 set of fishing accessories), 2 rifles for sport hunting and 100 rounds each (based on the permission of the Ministry of Luxembourg), as well as radios, binoculars, portable tape recorders with a reasonable amount of magnetic film (cassettes), portable televisions - one item of each name.

5) The import of drugs is prohibited. It is forbidden to import products containing meat or milk, in particular sausage, canned food, lard and even chocolates. The ban does not apply to baby food and special preparations necessary for people with certain chronic diseases (in this case, the products must be carefully packed, and their weight shouldn’t exceed 2 kilograms). If meat and dairy products are found, they will be confiscated, and the passenger will have to pay a fine.

6) It is prohibited to export computer equipment, antiques, weapons and items of national heritage of the country without special permission.

To travel with your pet to Luxembourg, you must meet the following requirements.

Your pet must be identified using a microchip. The microchip must be implanted before the animal receives a rabies vaccination. If your pet has already been vaccinated before implantation, the vaccination becomes invalid and will need to be repeated.

Pets must be at least 105 days old and vaccinated against rabies. To travel to Luxembourg, you will need to wait 21 days after getting vaccinated (the first day counts as day 0).

You will need to obtain a health certificate from an authorized USDA veterinarian (if you are traveling from the US). The health certificate must contain confirmation of the rabies vaccination. Also, a component of the sanitary certificate is a written statement of the owner or the person accompanying the animals that the animals are not subject to movement for the purpose of selling or transferring these goods.
