You can import any currency (foreign or national) into the territory of Papua New Guinea without any restrictions. The export of local currency is limited to PGK 200, and foreign currencies to the equivalent of PGK 10,000.

Duty-free import applies to alcohol, tobacco, and perfume products, as well as to new goods, the value of which does not exceed PGK 200. Tourists can take a single item of radio, TV, and other equipment with them for personal use.

It is forbidden to import into Papua New Guinea antique objects, non-preserved food products (meat and fish), pork in any form. It is possible to import representatives of flora and fauna only with a previously issued permit. The importation of cats, dogs, and parrots into the territory of Papua New Guinea is prohibited.

At the end of the trip, it is forbidden to take out of the country:
