Do Ukrainian citizens need a visa to enter Poland?

No, no visa is required. Ukrainian citizens have a visa-free regime with Poland. The permitted period of stay in the country is 90 days (if you are traveling to this country for tourist purposes).

What documents are needed to travel to Poland from Ukraine?

To travel to Poland, Ukrainians will need:

Biometric passport
Travel insurance with coverage of at least EUR 30,000 and valid for the entire period of your stay in the Schengen area

Important information for travelers from Ukraine to Poland by car

If you are planning to leave Ukraine for Poland by your own car, you should take care of obtaining a Green Card policy in advance, because without it, the car will not be allowed to cross the border. It takes a few minutes to get a Green Card. All you need to do is follow the link, provide the necessary data, and pay for the service.

You will need the following documents to take out insurance:

Passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
international passport;
car registration certificate.

Crossing the border with pets

On March 27, 2023, Poland abolished the simplified rules for crossing the border with animals.

Currently, the following documents are required to cross the Polish border:

A document confirming that the animal has a microchip;
Valid rabies vaccination;
Veterinary passport of the European standard;
Health certificate;
Certificate of testing for rabies antibodies (titers);
VET-1 or VET-1 (CIS) certificate;
International certificate. It is issued free of charge at the border at a special veterinary station. It is the VET-1 certificate that is required to obtain it.

So, to travel to Poland, please prepare the following documents:

Biometric passport
Travel insurance policy
Confirmation of sufficient funds for the trip (the daily allowance for EU countries is different or absent, such as Germany. It is recommended to focus on the amount of 45 euros per day per person)
Green card - compulsory car insurance for traveling abroad (if necessary)

What can be transported across the border of Poland

1. Total amount of luggage and cash

When crossing the border, you can have items worth a total of 300 euros, and a child under 18 years of age - no more than 150 euros.

However, it should be understood that this value will be assessed individually by each customs officer.

This cost does not include

necessary medicines;
personal luggage taken with you on the trip;
the amount of tobacco and tobacco products and alcoholic beverages that can be imported without paying duty.

2. One person may bring a maximum of EUR 10 thousand in cash to Poland, which does not require a written declaration at customs. The equivalent of this amount may be in another currency.

3. What can be among personal belongings

gifts in the amount of 1 piece of each item;

What is forbidden to take with you to Poland

Strict restrictions apply to food of animal origin. This includes meat, lard, milk, yogurt, cheese, butter, and canned meat.

It is strictly forbidden to bring into the territory of Poland such things as weapons, narcotic, chemical and toxic substances.

What is prohibited to import to Poland:

products made of the skin of wolves, bears, snakes, crocodiles and other wild animals;
stuffed animals and products made of elements of animal origin, for example, ivory jewelry, feathers of wild birds;
souvenirs, such as shells, corals;
original engravings and lithographs;
handmade paintings older than 50 years that do not belong to their creators, worth 15 thousand euros or more;
archaeological objects over 100 years old;
books over 100 years old and worth 50 thousand euros or more;
archival materials and their parts over 50 years old;
photographs and paintings made by hand on any media, more than 50 years old and worth 150 thousand euros or more;
antique items worth 50 thousand euros or more;
medicines containing animal derivatives, for example, bear fat;
endangered animals and plants, such as insectivorous plants, tropical wood.
