Do Ukrainian citizens need a visa to enter Poland?
No, no visa is required. Ukrainian citizens have a visa-free regime with Poland. The permitted period of stay in the country is 90 days (if you are traveling to this country for tourist purposes).
What documents are needed to travel to Poland from Ukraine?
To travel to Poland, Ukrainians will need:
- Biometric passport
- Travel insurance with coverage of at least EUR 30,000 and valid for the entire period of your stay in the Schengen area
Important information for travelers from Ukraine to Poland by car
If you are planning to leave Ukraine for Poland by your own car, you should take care of obtaining a Green Card policy in advance, because without it, the car will not be allowed to cross the border. Crossing the border with pets
On March 27, 2023, Poland abolished the simplified rules for crossing the border with animals.
Currently, the following documents are required to cross the Polish border:
- A document confirming that the animal has a microchip;
- Valid rabies vaccination;
- Veterinary passport of the European standard;
- Health certificate;
- Certificate of testing for rabies antibodies (titers);
- VET-1 or VET-1 (CIS) certificate;
- International certificate. It is issued free of charge at the border at a special veterinary station. It is the VET-1 certificate that is required to obtain it.

- archival materials and their parts over 50 years old;
- photographs and paintings made by hand on any media, more than 50 years old and worth 150 thousand euros or more;
- antique items worth 50 thousand euros or more;
- medicines containing animal derivatives, for example, bear fat;
- endangered animals and plants, such as insectivorous plants, tropical wood.
