Senegal has lifted all covid restrictions

Travelers no longer are required to have tests and vaccination certificates for entry.

If you do not need a visa to enter, your total stay in the country must not exceed 90 days within a 180-day period. This applies when you are traveling as a tourist, visiting family or friends, attending business meetings, cultural or sporting events. A longer stay is possible, but you must apply for a visa.

Citizens who do not have the right to enter the country under the visa-free regime are required to have a visa.

Depending on the purpose and duration of your trip to Senegal, different types of visas will be issued. If you plan to go as a tourist, visit family, or for other reasons, you will need to apply for different visas to Senegal.

• Visa on arrival
  A Senegalese visa can be obtained upon arrival at Dakar International Airport (DIASS) for entry and stay of up to 3 months free of charge.
  Upon arrival at Dakar International Airport, you must have the following documents with you
  • valid passport
  • return air ticket
  • Proof of accommodation if you are traveling for tourist purposes, or proof of business trip if you are traveling for business purposes

Tourist Visa to Senegal

Senegal tourist visa is issued to applicants who intend to visit Senegal for tourism and sightseeing purposes.

Documents required for obtaining a Senegal tourist visa

• Application form

• Two photos

• A passport that must be valid for at least six months after the date of your return from Senegal

• National ID and residence permit/Visa (if your country of residence and citizenship are different)

• Confirmation of residence (hotel/accommodation reservation).

• Air ticket booking (Copy of round-trip ticket)

• Yellow fever vaccination certificate

• For minors: birth certificate and travel permit signed by parents.

Processing time of a tourist visa to Senegal

The average processing time for a tourist visa to Senegal is 3-14 working days. It depends on your country of visa application.

Note: for travel documents of refugees and citizens of countries that do not have a consular agreement with Senegal, the processing period is subject to prior approval by the Ministry of the Interior of Senegal (the waiting period is from 30 to 45 days).
