To work in Burundi, employees who are not citizens of the country must have a work visa and a residence permit. There is only one type of business visa that meets the legal requirements for the entry of non-citizens into the country. This visa allows them to stay in the country for 30 days, but for longer stays they need a residence permit.
It is best to apply for a work visa at least one to two months before the required date of entry into the country. Keep in mind that the employer must sponsor all foreign employees for work and apply on their behalf.

- Contact the embassy to confirm the availability of documentation or other requirements necessary for the employee's specific situation.
- Collect and submit all necessary documents.
- Pay the application fee.
