You should take out an insurance policy for Belize for the entire period of your stay in the country.
A travel insurance policy must meet the following requirements
- minimum coverage of $50,000
- covers the costs of medical treatment, costs related to COVID-19, repatriation.

Insurance is not required for the following persons:
- citizens and residents of Belize
- military
- passengers staying for a maximum of 24 hours.
The insurance policy must be issued by an insurance company registered in Belize and approved by the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Belize. Please note that all visitors to Belize must have a valid passport, a 30-day round trip ticket, and sufficient funds ($75 per day) to cover the cost of their stay.

If visa-free entry to Belize is not available to you, you should apply for an entry visa.
The visa allows you to enter Belize and stay in Belize for a maximum of 30 days from the date of entry.
If you plan to stay in Belize longer than 30 days, you will need to visit an immigration office to extend your stay in Belize. The permit required to extend your stay in Belize beyond 30 days is called a "Belize Visitor's Permit Extension".
