In order to study at one of the universities in Benin, international students must obtain a Benin student visa depending on their country of origin.
Obtain a Benin visa (if available) to facilitate his/her entry into the country
Entry into Benin from and through authorized points of entry only
Present a valid passport to the immigration officer at the point of entry
Declare the purpose of entry to Benin and the intended institution of study
Go to the designated immigration office upon entry and obtain a student card to study in Benin.
Additional information for students in Benin
All immigrants to Benin must respect and comply with national immigration laws, instructions and formalities.
Visas and student passes do not allow paid or voluntary work in Benin.
All WAC nationals studying or wishing to study in Benin must obtain student passes from the relevant immigration services.
Training should be conducted only in approved and licensed educational institutions.
Please note that consular services/embassy authorities may request additional documents if deemed necessary.
Applications and documents must be submitted directly during the visa appointment. The visa department conducts visa registration from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
It is recommended to apply at least 60 days before the planned travel date and not to plan non-returnable trips before the visa is issued.
Other documentation you need can be obtained from the embassy and will depend on the type of training you intend to undertake.
