Ukraine has resumed issuing electronic visas: from February 17, 2025, representatives of 45 countries can receive permission to enter Ukraine online

After a two-year hiatus, Ukraine has re-launched its e-Visa program and opened its doors to tourists from 45 countries. The new procedure went into effect on February 17, 2025. What is an e-Visa to Ukraine?
The Ukrainian e-Visa program was first introduced on April 4, 2018. This system allows travelers who meet the requirements to apply for a visa online, eliminating the need for in-person visits to consulates. However, in 2022, the service was suspended due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In February 2025, the system was announced to be restored. This welcome move simplifies travel planning and allows eligible citizens to apply for visas online, eliminating the need to visit consulates.
Countries eligible for a Ukrainian e-visa
As of today, citizens of the following 45 countries can apply for an e-visa to travel to Ukraine: Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bhutan, Bolivia, Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Fiji, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kiribati, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mexico, Micronesia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Nicaragua, Palau, Peru, Philippines, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Seychelles, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Suriname, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.
Requirements for obtaining an electronic visa to Ukraine
An electronic visa to Ukraine is available to travelers visiting the country for the following purposes:
- Tourism and business.
- Education and cultural events.
- Scientific and journalistic work.
- Sports competitions.
- Medical treatment.
How to apply for an electronic visa to Ukraine in 2025?
In order to apply for an electronic visa to Ukraine, you must perform the following steps:
1. Complete the registration procedure
Create an account on the electronic visa portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
2. Fill out the application
Fill out the online visa application form in detail.
3. Prepare documents and upload them to the website
The package of documents for an e-Visa in Ukraine includes the following certificates:
- Valid passport.
- Latest passport-sized photo.
- Medical insurance policy with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros.
- Proof of sufficient funds to pay for your stay.
- A document confirming the purpose of your visit (e.g. hotel reservation, invitation letter).
4. Pay the visa fee
- USD 20 for a single-entry visa.
- USD 30 for a double-entry visa.
- Urgent applications will be charged at double the amount.
5. Receive a ready-made e-visa by email
After successful consideration and approval of the application, the e-visa will be sent to your email in PDF format.
6. Print the visa and present it upon entry
To cross the border, you must have a printed document and a valid passport with you. The e-visa is valid at international border crossing points across the state border of Ukraine.

The standard processing time for an e-visa is 3 business days.
Expedited processing takes 1 business day.

Ukraine is also working on an electronic travel authorization (ETA) system for travelers from visa-free countries. This initiative is aimed at simplifying entry procedures for visitors from countries that do not require a traditional visa.
