Traveling to Belgium: what tourists need to know

Belgium has cancelled all covid restrictions on the entry of foreigners into the country. Belgium is part of the Schengen area, so a Schengen visa is required to travel to Belgium. ● Certificate from the place of work on company letterhead indicating the position, salary, date of entry to work, and guarantee of maintaining the workplace during the trip. Subject to visa entry. 

● Financial guarantees. A certificate from the bank about the existence of a card account and the balance on the account + a printout of the movement on the account for the last 3 months with a translation into English. The minimum amount is 45 euros per day of stay in the country.

Conditions of transportation of things 

Import conditions are standard for the EU. It is forbidden to import weapons and ammunition, antiques.

There are no restrictions on the import or export of currency in the form of banknotes or traveler's checks. Without filling out a special customs declaration, it is allowed to move currency, checks, and securities for a total amount of no more than 10,000 euros across the border. 


Animals 

Your pet if travel with it to a tourist destination, must be: 

● "chipped"; 

● have a certificate of safe titer against rabies; 

● have an appropriate international veterinary passport filled in English.

The official currency in Belgium is the euro. There are many banks and exchange offices in Belgium, but the exchange rate varies. Card payments are widespread everywhere. Therefore, it is better to have a credit card with you. Belgium is a tourist country, there are thieves there too. 


The car and the validity of the ownership rights to drive the car 

To see Belgium by car, you must have a European-style driver's license or supplement your local license with an international one. Road signs are presented in Dutch or French. Roads are free, except for some areas - tunnels. The speed mode is standard for EU countries.
