List of documents required for obtaining a medical visa.
- Completed questionnaire Form V.2013 (Supplementary Visa Application Form);
- Foreign passport (Original) – valid for at least 6 months. at the time of submission of documents to the Consulate, at least two blank pages;
- Copy of foreign passport (photo page + previously issued visas to the PRC);
- Photo (1 pc.) - color on a light background, 3.5*4.5 cm, without corners and ovals;
- Copy of internal passport (all pages);

Additional documents for minor children:
- A copy of the birth certificate;

The birth of children in China is strictly regulated by the authorities. Only now, Chinese citizens are allowed to give birth to 3 children in one family. That is, it is impossible to go to the People's Republic of China for the purpose of having a child. But you can become a guardian of a child, this is provided by law. For this, you need to issue a Q1 visa and collect a certain list of documents.
A foreigner who has decided to become a guardian of a Chinese child has a chance to get a Q1 visa. For this, you need to additionally collect the following package of documents:
- A guardianship decision paper issued by the PRC embassy or consulate in your home country or government guardianship authorities. The applicant must have the document notarized by a notary public in the home country or territory of China.
- The original, a copy of passports and papers that would confirm the family ties between the father/mother of the child and the future guardian. Certificates of marriage, birth of a child, family ties are suitable for this.
- Consent to establish guardianship, which is issued by authorized persons from the PRC. You still need to add the ID of the consenting guardian.
- A photocopy of a document confirming the permanent residence of the father and mother abroad at the time of the child's birth (if at least one spouse is a Chinese citizen).
- It is worth considering that a foreigner who receives a Q1 visa must, in the next month after arriving in China, visit the local public security body in the city of residence in order to establish the fact of residence in the country and submit documents for the permanent residence.

Differences between S and Q visas.

In more detail:
Q1/Q2 visa

A Q2 visa is usually issued for up to 180 days. Such a permission document can be issued by residents who are visiting their relative who is a citizen of the PRC.
S1/S2 visa
Only a spouse, father, minor child or father of a spouse, working or student foreigner can submit documents for S1. In this case, he is in the country for more than 180 days.
The S2 visa is issued for a period of slightly more than 180 days. This permit can be issued to people who want to visit their relatives who are working or studying in China.
What documents are required for Q1 and Q2 family visas?
In order to issue an invitation visa and reunite with relatives, the following documents should be submitted:
- Foreign passport - must be valid for at least 6 months after returning from the planned trip to China, and also have at least one blank page;
- 1 color photo (3.5x4.5 cm) on a white background (preferably in electronic form);

- The original and a copy of the documents that could be used to confirm the family relationship with the person who wants to issue the authorization document (for the Q1 visa). In this case, it will be sufficient to have a marriage certificate, a child's birth certificate, a family bond, which is issued by the public security agency and certified by a notary.
- Copy of all pages of the second valid foreign passport;
- Proof that you have one passport. It is needed if:
- you have one valid passport;
- you had a previous foreign passport, but you surrendered/lost it and you have no copies left.

- Invitation letter from private individuals. It must contain the same information as in the case of a Q1 visa.
- A copy of the passport and residence permit of the inviting person.
- The original, a copy of the documents confirming the presence of family ties between the visiting foreigner and a person staying in the country on a student or work visa.
- Copy of all pages of the second valid foreign passport;
- Proof that you have one passport. It is needed if:
- you have one valid passport;
- you had a previous foreign passport, but you surrendered/lost it and you have no copies left.

- A husband, father, minor child, father-in-law/mother-in-law or father-in-law can issue an S1 document for coming to China for a long period.
