Immigration to Comoros for Burundi citizenship

Citizenship in the Comoros can be obtained at birth or later by naturalization.

Citizenship by birth

Those who acquire citizenship at birth include:

• Children who were born anywhere who have at least one parent who is a citizen of the Comoros

• Children who were born in the Comoros to foreigners still residing on the islands can obtain citizenship of origin upon request

• Found on the territory of foundlings or orphaned children whose parents are unknown.

• A foreigner who has done exceptional services to the nation may become naturalized without meeting the residence requirements.
