Foreigners from countries with a visa-free regime can enter the Czech Republic for medical treatment without additional visa processing, provided that their stay doesn’t exceed 90 days. If a foreigner goes to the Czech Republic for long-term treatment (more than three months), they should apply for a national visa.
Foreigners traveling to the Czech Republic under the visa regime must apply for a national visa for medical treatment abroad.
You can read about the conditions and procedure for obtaining a national visa at this link.
Please note that when crossing the border, border guards may request an invitation from the clinic or medical institution where you will be treated. An invitation (certificate) from a medical institution should be obtained before crossing the border.
To enter the Czech Republic, you must obtain medical insurance. Insurance must meet the following requirements:
• Minimum health insurance coverage must be at least 30,000 euros;
• Coverage area – the entire EU and countries that are not part of the EU, but are signatories of the Schengen Agreement
