Citizens who don’t have the right to enter within the visa-free regime and who do not have another document that gives them the right to enter (for example, a stay card) are required to have a visa. If your country of citizenship doesn’t have a visa exemption agreement with the Czech Republic, and you want to travel to the Czech Republic for a short stay, business trip, vacation, family or friends visit, you will need to apply for a Schengen visa in advance. This short-term visa is only valid for 90 days of stay in the Czech Republic and in all other member states of the Schengen area for 180 days. The start date of the 180-day period is considered to be the day of entry to the Czech Republic or another country in the Schengen area.

Schengen visa for tourism
If you are going to visit the Czech Republic for tourism purposes for a period of less than 90 days, depending on your nationality, you may need to obtain a Czech tourist visa first. A Czech tourist visa allows you to stay in the Czech Republic and carry out tourist activities for a maximum of 90 days.
