The system of higher education in Georgia
Higher education in Georgia consists of three levels: Bachelor (BA), Master (MBA) and Doctorate (PhD).
Types of higher education institutions.
There are three types of higher education institutions available in Georgia:
- University - a higher educational institution that carries out higher educational programs of all three levels;
- Educational university - carries out higher educational program / programs (except for doctoral programs);
- College - a higher educational institution that performs only the program of the first degree of higher academic education.
What are the requirements for admission to universities in Georgia?
The duration of the bachelor's program is from 3 to 4 years (6 years in a medical school).
To grant the right to study in Georgia to a citizen of another country (foreigners who have completed general or relevant education and studied in another country during the last 2 years), the following documents must be submitted with the application:
- Copies of all pages of the document certifying citizenship;
- A document certifying the acquisition of full general or relevant education in another country;
- Written consent of the head of the educational institution elected by the entrant regarding the possibility of their enrolling.
Note: The application fee depends on the program of study and the university, it is non-refundable and is about 100 dollars.
The duration and deadlines for application depend on the university. It usually takes a few days to evaluate an interview. The application deadline for the curriculum must be announced by the host university.
