Business visa
A business visa is issued to travelers visiting the country for the sole purpose of engaging in business in Ghana. This includes mergers, meetings, business expansion, joint project, etc. However, professionals such as teachers, dentists, lawyers, etc. cannot work on a business visa. Usually, a visa is issued for 3 months as a single entry. However, depending on the decision of the High Commission, a multiple-entry visa can be issued for 6 months or more or until the passport expires.
Required documents for obtaining a business visa to Ghana.

The letter should contain:
- Name, mailing address and telephone number of the sponsor/company
- Detailed information about the applicant's place of work, starting date and salary
- Terms of work leave (estimated date of resumption of work) and purpose of the trip
- A copy of a valid trade license and company ownership documents (if the person owns the company).
- Letter from the university (if the person is a student)
- A copy of the sponsor's valid passport and residence visa (if applicable), which must be attached to the sponsor's letter (if the applicant is a dependent).
11. Confirmation of financial means
- Bank or credit card statement for the last 3 months
The average processing time for a business visa to Ghana is 3-15 working days. It depends on the country you are applying for a visa.

Work permit in Ghana
A Ghana Work Permit is a permit issued by the Ghana Immigration Service to employ foreign nationals specifying the number and description of persons authorized to be employed. A work permit in Ghana is valid for 1 year and in some cases 6 months. The work permit states the name of the employer and a statement that the permit holder can only engage in a specific job, company, or skilled trade specified in the work permit.

The cost of a work permit in Ghana
- Citizens of Ghana with a foreign passport – 150 USD
- Citizens of countries ECOWAS - 500 USD
- Other citizens - 1000 USD
A prospective employee must start by applying for an entry visa at the Ghanaian embassy in the country of residence — or in the nearest country if the country of residence does not have an embassy. In addition to a completed application form, applicants must be prepared to provide a visa valid for at least six months, passport photos, a letter from their employer and proof of yellow fever immunization.
