A business visa is issued for a short-term visit to Japan for the purpose of negotiations, contract signing, participation in a conference, etc. This group of visas includes sports competition participants and those who have decided to visit the country for cultural exchange.

This category of visa to Japan is also required for those applicants who come to the country for cultural exchange programs or to participate in sports competitions.

Visa permits for seafarers, which also relate to a work visa.

As crew members on seagoing vessels, when visiting Japanese ports, seafarers must obtain a special visa. The validity of the paper depends on the scope and purpose of the voyage.

To cross the water borders of Japan you need:

● to apply for a transit visa for 3 days;

● visa permit is issued for the term of the inviting document.

Visa types:

● Work visa - 3-month entry corridor, stay in the country during the term of the business agreement.

● Single-entry business visa - 3-month entry corridor, stay - 15/30 days.

● Double-entry business visa - 6-month entry corridor, period of stay - 2 times for 15/30 days each.

● Multiple-entry visa - 5-year entry corridor, stay for up to 90 days after each entry into Japan (multiple-entry visa is granted to those who have visited Japan at least 3 times in the last year or at least 10 times in the last 3 years)

A work visa to Japan is issued for a period of 3/6 months, for one or three years. The validity of the permit directly depends on the intended position and specialization. Also, a work visa can be extended. You can apply yourself or your employer or company representative can do it on your behalf. The application must be submitted before the expiration of the current visa (three months (90 days) before the expiration date of the current visa).

Documents required for visa extension:

● Completed application form for extension of stay;

● Passport;

● Resident card. This card is received by every foreigner with a Certificate of Eligibility. Also, this card can be applied for by the applicant's representative (inviting party);

● Passport size photo;

● Proof that you meet the financial requirements to continue living in Japan;

● A document confirming the continuation of work, which specifies the details of your work, such as salary, position, and duration;

● Registration documents of the enterprise;

● Certificate of income and tax payment.

The following documents are required to open a business/work visa:

● Visa application form to enter Japan.

● Two photos, 4.5 x 4.5 cm, must be colored, on a white background,  4 - 5 mm of free space should be above the head.

● Passport with two blank pages.

● Confirmation of the hotel reservation, indicating the name of the tourist, as well as the cost, and a note of payment.

● Confirmation of the flight reservation, indicating the cost of the flight.

● Certificate from the place of work indicating the position, length of service, and salary.

● Invitation from a Japanese company.

● Original + 1 copy of the Certificate of Eligibility

● A travel order from a Japanese organization with a guarantee of payment for air tickets and other expenses during the trip.

● Plan of stay in Japan (provided by a Japanese company).

● Notarized power of attorney for submission of documents.

If the costs are paid by the Japanese side, you must additionally provide one of the following documents:

● Certificate of legal entity registration;

● A copy of the company's quarterly report for the last reporting period;

● Information about the organization;

● Booklets about the activities of the company or organization.
