In order to visit the Republic of Kosovo, foreigners will have to obtain an entry visa. Citizens of these countries are exempt from visa requirements. The total period of stay in the country for them is 90 days for 6 months.

The visa exemption also applies to the following categories:
- Citizens of countries that have a valid biometric residence permit issued by one of the member states of the Schengen Agreement, or have a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa, are exempt from the requirement to obtain an entry visa, transit visa and can stay in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo for up to 15 days.
- Citizens of the EU and Schengen countries; the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; the Vatican, the Principality of Andorra, the Principality of Monaco, the Republic of San Marino, The Republic of Albania, Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia are allowed to enter, transit and stay in Kosovo for up to 90 days within six months if they have a valid biometric identification card.
- Holders of diplomatic and service passports issued by the states of the people's Republic of China, Ukraine, Egypt, Indonesia and the Russian Federation are allowed to enter, transit or stay in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo for up to 15 days.
- Holders of valid travel documents issued by the special administrative regions of the people's Republic of China: Hong Kong and Macau are exempt from the obligation to obtain a visa.
- Holders of travel documents issued by Taiwan are exempt from the visa requirement, provided that the diplomatic or consular mission of the Republic of Kosovo is notified at least 2 weeks in advance.
- Holders of travel documents issued by the EU member states, the Schengen area States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America, Canada, Australia and Japan on the basis of the 1951 year Convention Relating to the status of refugees or the 1954 year Convention Relating to the status of refugees. Stateless persons, as well as holders of valid travel documents for foreigners, can enter, pass through the territory and stay in the Republic of Kosovo for up to 15 days without a visa.
- Holders of passes, regardless of their citizenship, issued by the UN, NATO, OSCE, Council of Europe and the European Union, are also exempt from the visa requirement.

When and where should I apply for a visa to Kosovo?
Applications are submitted in person no later than three months before the start of the planned trip to the embassy/consulate of the Republic of Kosovo. Those who still have valid multiple-entry Schengen visas can apply six months before the current visa expires.
Call the embassy or Consulate of Kosovo in your country to make an appointment to apply for a visa. You may be asked to be interviewed while visiting the embassy.

What documents are required for obtaining a visa?
When you apply for a Kosovo visa, you must provide the following documents:
- Completed and signed visa application form. Minors or anyone traveling with you will need a separate visa form;
- A copy of your travel document (passport, pass, etc.) containing two blank pages and valid for at least three months after you leave the Republic of Kosovo;
- One photo;
- Personal statement. You must provide an email stating the reason for your visit, where and how long you plan to stay in the country during your stay;
- Financial report. Your application must be accompanied by bank statements confirming that you can finance your stay in Kosovo;
- Round-trip flights booked;
- Health insurance;
- Booking accommodation in Kosovo;
- Paid Visa fee.
*Please note that each document must have two copies.
Your documents must be issued in Albanian, English or Serbian. Some documents may need to be legalized, and the embassy/consulate will inform you about this.

How much does a visa to Kosovo cost?
The fee for applying for a visa to Kosovo is 40 euros. However, the visa fee may be exempt:
- Tourists-children under 6 years old;
- Guests with diplomatic passports;
- Visitors are children and teachers who are on educational trips.

After you apply, you will have to wait for the embassy to contact you regarding the status of your visa. For the most part, visa processing takes about 15 days, but this depends on the embassy.

How long can I stay with an entry visa to Kosovo?
You can stay in the country for 90 days for six months.

What should I do if my application for a visa to Kosovo is rejected?
In case of refusal, the applicant has 8 working days to file a complaint at the consular post where the initial application was submitted.
If you are not eligible for visa - free entry to Kosovo, you may need an airport transit visa. Applicants must have proof of further Travel (Travel Card and/or visa for the next destination).
To import pets into Kosovo, all animals must have:
1. The pet microchip;
2. Vaccinations;
Your pet must be accompanied by proof of the current rabies vaccination, which was given 30 days before entering Kosovo. Other vaccinations include plague, hepatitis, steam for dogs and feline viral rhinotracheitis, calcevirus for cats.
3. The health certificate;
Shortly before traveling, a licensed veterinarian must complete a Kosovo veterinary certificate.
