A driver's license issued in another country is accepted if it is issued in English. In other cases, drivers are strongly advised to obtain a special driver's license of a generally accepted international standard - the international driver's license (MPV). In fact, this is the translation of National driver's licenses into the main international languages. The document is an annex to national rights and is invalid without their presentation. So if you have an MPV, take it with you. If you do not have such a document, you can get it in Latvia from the traffic police - it will take about 30 minutes.
