The Mexican Digital Nomad Visa is a visa created in December 2018 to attract digital nomads to move to Mexico. The visa allows people to stay in Mexico for up to one year and work remotely.

The visa is valid for 1 year and can be extended for up to 3 years.

Basic requirements for obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa

A foreign citizen is required to obtain the document:

- You must prove that your income is approximately $2,600 per month.

- You need health insurance adapted for remote workers and digital nomads living abroad.

- Proof of no criminal record.

List of documents required to obtain a digital nomad visa to Mexico

- Valid passport. Your passport must be valid for at least the next six months when you enter the country.

- Visa application - printed in English or Spanish. You can download or print the application form from the Embassy's website.

- Passport photo. 

- Proof of income. 

- Proof of health insurance. 

- Proof of no criminal record - you can get a certificate from the police department in your country of residence.

- Proof of kinship with dependents. If you have dependents, you must provide proof of kinship, such as a marriage certificate or birth certificate.

- Payment of fees. You must provide proof that you have paid the required fees, such as visa receipts.

- The original and a version of the legal authorization to stay in the country of destination, if you are not a native of that country.

How to apply for a Mexico Digital Nomad visa?

To apply for a Mexican Nomad visa, you need to follow these steps:

1. You will need to contact the embassy either in your country of origin or in your country of residence. They will require proof that you are legally allowed to live in the country you came from.

Find the nearest Mexican embassy or consulate and request a visa. Depending on the location and time of year, it may take several weeks to receive your appointment. So, for this reason, we recommend that you do this first.

2. Once you set an appointment, it's time to gather all the documents you need to bring with you.
