Higher education is provided by one public university in the South Pacific.

To study at Nauru University, international students must obtain a Nauru student visa depending on their country of origin. To get a Nauru student visa, you must first be accepted into an educational institution in Nauru. 

After that, the student must apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for permission to obtain a student visa.

Entry Requirements for Students in Nauru

Any foreign national who intends to enter Nauru for study must:

Get a Nauruan visa before entering or upon arrival depending on your citizenship. The United Arab Emirates has a visa-free regime.

Submit a valid passport to the immigration officer at the point of entry.

State the purpose of entering the islands and the expected educational institution.

Visit the designated immigration office after entry and get a student ID to study in Nauru.

You must meet the following criteria:

• A letter of acceptance must be provided confirming that the applicant has been offered a full-time place at a recognized educational institution.
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate proof that they have sufficient funds to reside in the country.
• It must be confirmed that the course cost has been paid in full.
• It is necessary to obtain private health insurance and provide documentary evidence of this.
• The candidate must have a clear intention to return to their country after the period of study ended.

To apply online for a student visa, you must do the following:

- Send the consulate an email with a copy of your passport with your name, citizenship, and date of birth.

- In your email, please indicate your current country of residence and attach copies of any other residence permits you have. Pay the visa fee.

- If you have already made this payment, simply attach a receipt.
