Student visa (study up to 3 months)

List of documents for application submission:

The original of a valid foreign passport or travel document of the applicant. The validity period of the passport must be at least 3 months after the planned date of departure from New Zealand;

Fully completed Visitor Visa INZ Form 1017 with applicant's signature and date of completion;

Two colored photos;

Availability of funds: a certificate from the place of work and/or an employment agreement and a recent bank statement on the state of the bank account; or a detailed statement from the bank about the balance of the bank account for the credit card; or sponsorship form INZ1025 completed and signed by your sponsor in New Zealand;

Visa fee;

Reservation of round-trip air tickets or guarantee of repatriation in accordance with the sponsorship form. A purchased ticket is not a guarantee of visa issuance. It is not recommended to buy tickets before receiving visa approval;

Medical form: Forms must be issued no earlier than 3 months before the submission of visa documents, as well as filled, signed and stamped according to the approved form (INZ);

Invitation from the educational institution. The invitation must meet the NZQA requirements for studying international students, include the name of the course and the minimum time required to complete it;

An invoice for the amount of tuition and living expenses;

Accommodation guarantee;

Additional information – information showing previous experience of learning English to demonstrate the level of interest in learning English and compliance with the requirements of a New Zealand course of study taught in English (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL certificates).

Student visa (studying for more than 3 months)

If you plan to stay in New Zealand for more than 12 months — each applicant must submit completed forms INZ1007 and INZ1096;

Every applicant who has reached the age of 17 and who plans to stay in New Zealand for more than 24 months must provide a certificate of no criminal record in the country of residence, as well as in any other country in which they have lived for 5 years from he is 17 years old. Certificates must be issued no earlier than 6 months before the submission of visa documents;

Additions to a student visa:

The following categories of students may be granted extensions to their student visas, which will allow them to work no more than 20 hours per week, as well as during the winter holidays:

1.Students who complete a full course of study at a private or higher educational institution for a minimum of 2 academic years or a full course of study at a New Zealand, which ends with obtaining a New Zealand qualification for which points are awarded within the Skilled Migrant Category;

The Skilled Migrant Category is a points system based on factors such as age, work experience, your qualifications and the offer of skilled employment. You must also be under the age of 55 and meet English language, health and behavior requirements. Must have 160 or more points.

2.12- and 13-year-old students who complete a full course of study with the permission of the school and parents;

3.To students who complete a full course of study at a private or higher education institution for a minimum of 6 months, provided that the primary goal is the development of language skills, and provided that the student has an IELTS certificate with an overall score of at least 5 points at the time of application visa documents.

After completing the course of study, students of polytechnic institutes or universities who have successfully completed the course of study in New Zealand can apply for a work permit for a period of up to 2 years, which will allow them to gain practical experience within the framework of the obtained qualification, if:

• The course of study in New Zealand lasted 3 years;
• The training course ended with the acquisition of a qualification for which points are awarded within the framework of the Skilled Migrant Category;
• There is a job offer corresponding to the obtained qualifications.
