In Nigeria, you can get the following types of academic visas:
1. Visas for academic exchange programs:
- visa for academic exchange programs (student, scientist, teacher) – F7H. This is a one-time visa for students, scientists, and teachers, issued as part of the academic exchange program.
- Academic Exchange Program (AEP) Visa – R8A. Allows residence in Nigeria for two years. It is renewable. Residency is required to participate in AEP in Nigeria.
- visa for the spouse of an AEP visa holder – R8B. Issued to the spouse of an Academic Exchange Program (AEP) participant for residence in Nigeria.
2. Visas for trainees:
- trainee visa – R9A. Issued to individuals who wish to undertake an internship program in Nigeria. Allows residence in Nigeria for up to 1 year.
3. Visas for students:
- student visa – R7A
- visa for the spouse of a student visa holder – R7B.

Allows residence in Nigeria for 2 years. It is renewable.
How to get
Issued to international students who wish to study in Nigeria.
Requirements for receiving:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months with at least 2 blank visa pages
- Leer visa service from an accredited institution
- An official application for an R7A visa from an immigration agency
- Confirmation of payment of the required minimum amount for training.
