Today, the Polish education system adheres to the Bologna process and offers public and private institutions where you can obtain bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees. The academic year lasts from October to June and is divided into winter and spring semesters.
There are more than 500 universities to choose from in Poland, 16 of which are included in the QS World University Rankings, and 25 of them in the QS EECA University Rankings.
In addition, the absence of entrance exams to Polish universities makes this option much more attractive for foreign students. You will only need a certificate of secondary education, a certificate of financial capacity and knowledge of English or Polish.
What documents are required for admission to a university?
In general, the list of documents that you need to submit for admission may differ slightly, depending on the chosen university and field. In general, for admission to a Polish higher education institution, you must submit:
Application form;
Valid passport and passport size photos;
Pre-secondary certificate or degree certificate depending on the level you are applying for;
Good knowledge of English or Polish, confirmed by the results of a language test.

Who can apply for scholarships in Poland?

If you are a European citizen, the only thing you will need to stay in Poland to study is a valid travel document, either a passport or an identity card from your country of origin. There are no formal requirements if you are staying for less than 90 days. However, since your studies will last more than three months, it will be enough for you to register your place of residence in Poland in one of the country's 16 administrative units – Voivodships.
If you are not a European citizen, you need a visa to enter and stay in Poland to study.
Two types of visas are available for international students:
Visa C: A short-term Schengen visa that allows the holder to stay in the territory of the Schengen Agreement for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
Visa D: long-term national visa issued for up to one year. If you need to stay longer in Poland to study, you will need to apply for a temporary residence permit.
