Treatment in Tonga for India citizenship

Registration of visas for entry for medical treatment is not provided.

1. The following passengers are allowed to enter: 

- Tongan citizens; 

- permanent residents of Tonga;

- passengers with the permission of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of foreign affairs. 

2. Passengers must fill out the "traveler's medical declaration card" and provide it upon arrival.

Medical care in Tonga is quite high-quality and inexpensive for both locals and tourists. There are three national hospitals in the country - in Waiola (Tongatapu), Hihifo (Ha'apai) and Neiafu (Vava'u), which provide simple diagnosis and treatment, and anyone who goes to such hospitals pays only for medication. There is also a large staff of qualified private doctors, if you contact them, you will have to pay for the service in cash. However, in case of serious medical problems, patients are transferred to clinics in Australia, Hawaii, New Zealand or Pago Pago (American Samoa). International health insurance is strongly recommended, which provides coverage in case of evacuation from the territory of the islands by air.

Also, make sure that your insurance policy includes extreme sports such as diving, surfing, and snorkeling. The minimum amount covered by the insurance policy is 50 000,00 USD.

Recommended vaccinations for Tonga include hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and typhoid fever, as well as flu shots.

Although specialized services may be limited, Tonga has pharmacies, dentists, and private general practitioners.
