How can a Guatemalan citizen extend his/her stay in Turkey?
In order to extend their stay beyond the authorized period, Guatemalan citizens need to apply for a short-term residence permit (ikamet) in Turkey.
A 3-month residence permit can be obtained once in 1 calendar year by applying to the authorized body. It must be done before the expiration of the 90-day visa-free period. The following documents will be required for registration:
- 2 questionnaires (to be taken at the department and filled out in English).
- 4 standard size photos.
- A passport and a copy of the spread.
- Confirmation of financial support of stay in the country (not less than 500 USD for each month of stay).
- Housing rental agreement.
